Prefect

Yay! I got made a prefect at school last thursday (late news i know, but i didn't think about posting it here until now .

I get to wear a blazer (more of a status thing) and i have a nice shiny prefect badge, in green (Green is the colour of Palace house, Red for Castle, Yellow for Tower and Blue for Abbey).

My duties include telling people off for skipping in the lunch queue, kicking people out of the corridors at lunch and break (unless they have a good reason for being there) and helping out at parents evenings. I get my Duty Roster on Monday, and i also get to know who my prefect partner is (prefects are paired off with each other for duties). I hope i get decent duties, and a nice partner !

British schools have Prefects/Head Girl and Head Boy. My dad was a prefect. It is sooooo awesome! Just don't abuse your power! MWHAHAHAHAHA!

I never knew that Head Girl/Boy/Prefect thing was actually used. Lol. I only knew it form HP, like others. Congratulations!!

My Partner is ok, she talks to me, and she is quite mouthy to the people that try to skip the lunch queue (My first duty was in Dining Hall 1, where the first and second years go). The duties are ok too, i have 2 dining hall duties, two basement duties and a duty at main entrance on friday at lunch. Also, if we have duties during lunchtime, i can get a free lunch voucher!!

My blazer is on order, though it wont arrive until after the summer holidays. Might take a pic once i get it.

That's really cool...I was "classroom monitor" while in 8th grade, but that didn't really count. Oh well. It was something. I think that it is really cool that you get to be a prefect and you even have a uniform! My dad's job in Hong Kong was to make sure that everyone had their uniform on, and no one was talking during the morning assembly.

Great news! I'm so happy for you At our school, we have to be nominated and then voted for to get that position, is that the same as your school? I don't think we get as good jobs as you though. Head students have to put out chairs for assembly and talk about issues with the Head! I'm so proud of you! Well done

At our school, you can vote for anyone in your year to be a prefect. You get nine votes, and teachers get to vote as well. If you get a certain number of teacher and student votes, then you are in, and you get given a badge at a special assembly.

Mind you, some of the duties aren't that good, i got loads of backchat from someone today, and i couldn't pipe up and answer back or tell them off . My partner wasn't there to back me up either (but she had a dental appointment, so i can't blame her).
