Just wondering, where did you guys get the ideas for your username? Sometimes the stories behind them are interesting, ya know. This is ok, right paprika? Even though it isn't about a problem?

My username means 'I stopped trying' in some language, I can't really remember which. Basically I gave up. But not in the suicide style, I gave up on trying that too. It basically sums me up...empty shell of a human. Really cheers me right up every time I see it. :[11]:

I was at Super K-Mart with my mom (it's closed now) and I saw a canister of Paprika, then I got the ideal of using that name as my Username of the various sites I visit. This was before I created this site. But yeah, I had also heard the name Paprika before on the NickJr show "Blue's Clues" and liked how they used it. I became fond of it and the sight of the spice in K-Mart triggered the rest.

I just made mine up. Actually, it came from a part of a story I was writing. The story is about Alice In Wonderland (worse than American McGee's style) If anyone wants to read, here is the part of the story:

The scars are not made by myself, definentely not! They are made by an unhappy sort, the rotting melancholy that slowly creeps it's way out of a dark hole at night. It sits at my bed, in the form of a grinning cat, and purrs a soft sweet sound in my ear. I stir slightly. The grin on the creature becomes wider, it's eyes shine like a yellow moon, it's claws extract and each one on it's right paw glitters. The paw slowly edges toward the wrist of me, the half awaken victim. The cat purrs and seems to let out a chuckle. CRASH The vase on the bedside table smashes to the ground as the grinning cat meows. It retracts it's claws then pounces to the window, it's silouhette and a grin is all that I saw. I check my wrist, five stratches. Bleeding. I took some bandage and wrapped it around my wrist. 5 Cheshire Scratches. I walk over to the mirror of my vanity. I stare with my blue eyes. This mirror must be disillusioned. It shows my eyes red, it shows me as a monster, oh what had I done to deal with such horrible fate. My parents death, twas not my fault! Clenshing my wrist, I swing my left arm foward. The broken pieces of the mirror fall to the ground. My hand starts to bleed worse than before. I look at one of the pieces on the ground. My eyes are blue, but blood runs down my face-- in the form of empty tears.



Hence, you saw: Dissillusioned, Broken Mirror... my other name online: Cheshie Scratches comes from that writing, too.

I think it's neat how some of you got your user names from other languages. Me - I hardly know english, and am failing spanish:icon_roll Anyway.....my user name sort of came to me one day. I origianlly tried plasticgoddess, but it was too long:icon_cry: and any sort of abreviations for it looked dumb, so I left it alone for a while and started thinking about different stuff and the word 'masquerade' came upon me. I was thinking of a charater (I don't know why, but I make up characters in my head and give them personalities.....maybe I'm schitsophrenic or something, hmmm:g: ). Anyway (again, lol)........the character was supposed to be a girl that hid herself from the world. She covered up who she really was, living a facade, a masquerade. She acted a way, when she felt another. She would constantly cover up her intelligence, and her maturity, her strenght and kindness for no reason at all. Well, I thought masquerade for one thing was a cool word, and I just like how I came across thinking of it, and I think it explains me in less then so many words. I mean, I don't think I'm EXACTLY like that, but I CAN by, ya know? Well, I guess that's interesting.......Maybe it just sounds more retarded then anything. I make stuff up in my head sometimes (just more explaining the character), like different characters for 1, and different situations and scenarios and stuff. Well, Pantalaimon is Lyras Daemon in the 'His Dark Materials' books. A daemon is kinda like a soul, but not quite, its like the other half of you and if you are seperated you both become nothings. A daemon continually changes shape between different animals until adulthood, when it sticks as one animal which represents you. This isnt a very good explaination, but if you havnt read the 'His Dark Materials' books, you should look them up. In the UK the first ones called 'Northern Lights', but I think its called 'The Golden Compass' in the US.
